Gear Wash

Clean, safe and sanitized gear.

You have a lot invested in your equipment.  Keep it clean, safe & hygienic... and protect yourself from foul odours and bacterial threats.

  • Hockey, lacrosse, football and baseball equipment
  • Camping gear
  • Hunting and fishing
  • Work wear
  • Firefighter gear
  • Law Enforcement training gear

Never use a washing machine to deep clean your sports gear!  The agitating action will soon destroy both your equipment and washing machine.

By using Gear Wash for regular maintenance of your sports equipment:

  • Your gear will be sanitized
  • Your gear will last longer
  • Your gear will smell better
  • Your gear will be more resistant to the development of mold
  • You will be better protected from skin irritation and infections

Why Gear Wash?

Gear wash gets deep.

Using the safe, natural disinfecting power of Enhanced Hydrogen Peroxide, UnStink products actually attack and destroy the bacteria that cause odours and skin problems, leaving your sports gear clean, fresh and sanitized.

Two products make up the system: Odour Destroyer and Gear Wash.  These products work together and will not damage your gear.  These products are safe and biodegradable.

Regular Maintenance: (After every time you use your gear)

  1. Remove all gear from your bag.
  2. Pre-spray socks, jerseys and under garments with Odour Destroyer, then wash in regular laundry.
  3. Spray down all gear thoroughly with Odour Destroyer.  Also spray your gear bag.  Do not rinse.  Allow to air-dry.
  4. Once dry, put gear back into your bag. It’s now ready to go.

Gear Wash

Full Sanitizing: (Monthly)

Think of this step as a shock treatment to keep your gear germ-free, sanitized and smelling great.  Do this step monthly if you use your gear 1-2 times a week.  If you use your gear more often, bump up the Sanitizing treatment to bi-weekly or weekly. Choose an area that’s ok to get wet as gear dries.  The bathtub is a perfect spot.  Garage or driveway work great in warmer weather.  Hang up or lay wet gear on towels or tarp while drying.  Make sure you have a full day after the treatment that you won’t need your gear.  This allows it to dry completely.

  1. Remove all gear from your bag.
  2. Pre-spray socks, jerseys and under garments with Odour Destroyer, then wash in regular laundry.
  3. Helmets, skates, ski boots and leather gear should be thoroughly sprayed with Odour Destroyer and put aside. These items will not work well in the Gear Wash.  (Removeable skate insoles are fine)
  4. Fill bathtub ½ with water. (Laundry sinks and even plastic storage bins will work too).  Warm water is preferred, but cold works also.
  5. Carefully pour entire contents of Gear Wash 4 litre jug into the water. (Try to avoid pouring concentrated product on your skin and avoid splashing. Eye protection is recommended).
  6. Submerse gear in solution for a minimum of 10 minutes.
  7. Remove from tub. Do not rinse. Allow gear to completely air-dry on floor or drying rack.
  8. The Gear Wash solution will not harm drains and is completely biodegradable.
